No. The 30 Boxes are not for storing your ex-wife. 30 Boxes is a free online calender app that is bad ass, and it apparently had its first birthday yesterday. So, why am I promoting some web service. Well, it’s not because they are paying me money. But, if any of you 30 Boxes’ people read this and feel overwhelmed by generosity, I won’t turn you away.
So, what does this have to do with divorce? Good question. 30 Boxes is a great tool for coordinating schedules with your ex. One of the many adjustments that divorced couples with children have to make is communicating schedules. There are after school programs, math tests, karate, Boy Scouts (unless, like me you believe in equal rights for all), doctor’s appointments, and sleep overs. Then there are changes to the parent’s schedules: I have to go out of town next weekend. Can we switch weekends 3 months from now? I need the kids to be present at my first performance art production for moral support.
You get the picture. One solution to all of this freakin’ reproductive chaos is to implement a shared calender, and 30 Boxes allows you to do just that. You can share events with others while making your own private schedule invisible. On a separate, non divorce related note, you can also integrate it with Netvibes and Wordpress. You’re smart people. You get the picture. Go check it out. I’ve been using it for almost a year and couldn’t live with out it. If you have any questions, let me know. Maybe I can answer them.
